Anatomy for the Fitness Professional (Lecture w/some demo)
Workshop Length: 1.5 - 3.0 hours
This lecture helps the group fitness professional grasp more in-depth anatomy and biomechanical concepts as they apply to the group fitness setting. Participants will see and discuss each major muscle with attachments and origins, then progress to joint actions, resisted range of motion, strength training goals and concepts. This information will then be transferred to demonstrating and discussing basic strength training exercises using a stability ball for each muscle discussed so that instructors can take the science and learn how it is applicable to the group setting.
(Appropriate for beginning to intermediate level group instructors and/or personal trainers.)
